What Do You Think Of Yourself?
You have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.
– Louise L. Hay
Everyone has negative thoughts at times. Especially about ourselves. It’s what you do with them that matters. The most important thing is to notice. Once you notice a negative thought, what do you do? Do you dwell upon it and let it smolder until it burns a hole in you? Or do you immediately flick it away so the cinder doesn’t have time to cause any damage? Do you beat yourself up for these thoughts. Or do you say – huh, that’s interesting and move on to the next thought. You can train yourself to notice the positive. It takes effort, in the beginning. It takes noticing. It takes letting go. It takes focus. It’s a choice. Each time you notice, let it go and then focus on something positive you make it easier to do it the next time. Practice this week. See how fast you can be at switching to something positive. At the end of the week, look back and see how you have shifted your thoughts and how you feel about yourself and life.
