Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway!
One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn’t.
– Henry Ford
One of my favorite books is called “Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway.” Fear stops many people from moving forward. From becoming what they are meant to be. From living their dream. What if fear isn’t something to be feared. What if fear is something to be encouraged. Fear means we haven’t done something yet. Not that we can’t. It is at the edge of our becoming. It is a stepping stone to something better. When we step out of our comfort zone, the real magic begins. We see things we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Especially, if we can stay comfortable in our discomfort.
How do you feel about fear? Next time you experience fear, stop and investigate what it is all about. Where is it coming from. What’s behind it. Stay in that place for awhile. Then ask yourself – How can I change this from a stumbling block into a stepping stone. Then take that step. Do it afraid. Feel the fear and do it anyway!
Here’s to you fear!
