Can You Choose Your Response?
In order to choose our response, we have to know where we want to go.
No response will help if we don’t have an idea of where we want to go. Or as my mentor, Mary Morrissey, would say – no wind is favorable to the sailor with no destination in mind.
Your destination, where you are going, is your vision.
There are 3 steps that can help you respond and achieve your vision.

- Intention – Without intention, you live by default. You let others decide who you are, what you will do and who you will be. Your intention is, you guessed it, your vision. The first step to creating a powerful vision, is to get clear about the life you would love to live. You want to create a clear, powerful and detailed picture of what that life would look like. The kind of picture that evokes powerful positive emotions when you read it. Give it detail. Create a vivid picture of what you want to create. 5 sensorize it. What does it look, smell, sound, taste, feel like. Allow yourself to feel it with your whole body.
- Attention – Having intention doesn't make change happen. You have to put your attention on your intention. Where attention goes, energy flows. You set the intention. The intention of eating healthy but your attention is focused on where can I go get pizza and beer or my attention is on the ice cream (my personal distraction). Your attention is on all these things that have nothing to do with your intention. Your attention is like planting seeds. You can’t plant an apple seed and expect to grow pears. Just like you can’t think thoughts of insecurity or lack or not good enough and sow abundance and prosperity. The seeds you plant today will become the crop you harvest tomorrow.

- Expectation – You have your Intention, your vision. You’ve shifted your Attention using the AIRR Method. The key that ties it all together is Expectation. You have to expect it to happen. We’ve heard the phrase – fake it until you make it. I think that still sets a questionable expectation. Expectation takes it deeper. BE it until you see it! Live from that place of becoming. This is who I am. I know what to do. Become your vision. Take the step from there.
I invite you to spend some time and create your intention (vision). Spend some time on how put your attention on it. Ask – if I expect this, what would I do today. Then do it.
