Resilience Helps You Keep Moving Forward

Last week I watched my twin great nephews leave for their first day of 4th grade.

They each had a mask on and a very full, heavy backpack with supplies and a laptop.

My niece bought them fun masks to wear. One was wearing camouflage the other an open shark mouth.

They were very excited about their masks and didn’t have an issue wearing them. Or carrying those heavy backpacks.

After they left, my niece started worrying.

Did she make the right decision about them doing the hybrid school option?

Were they going to be safe?

How often do we make a decision. Weighing all the facts. Only to second guess ourself later.

What happened that day?

One nephew said he loved it. The other said he had a good day.

Vibrant Living Tip

Children are very good at resilience. They don’t have all that enemy thought baggage.

There are many things you can do to have your thoughts be an ally. A few are:

  • Remember past successes. We’ve all had success. When your mind wants to take you down the isn’t this awful road, bring a few to mind. Remember how the success felt. Feel it again like it was just happening.
  • Gratitude. You knew this was going to be on the list. My favorite go to. List 10 things you are grateful for. Really feel the gratitude.
  • Play with a child. It could even be your child within. What did you love to do as a child? Spend some time doing that.

Vibrant Living Take Away

At any given moment, you get to choose how you will use your thoughts. Will you allow them to be your enemy or your ally. I invite you to choose ally. Noticing your thoughts is the first step.

Until next time...

Dream Bravely.
Act Boldly.
Live Vibrantly!
